About Low Gallery
Low Gallery is a community-focused art space in North Park, San Diego, dedicated to supporting local and regional artists and engaging the neighborhood through visual arts.
We host exhibitions spanning painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, and more — providing a platform for both emerging and established voices.
Our Mission
Low Gallery exists to foster a vibrant, inclusive arts community in North Park. We believe in making contemporary art accessible — offering a welcoming space where artists can experiment, exhibit, and connect with collectors and neighbors alike. Through exhibitions, opening receptions, and collaborations with organizations such as Sophie's Gallery, the Medium Festival of Photography, and Photolab, we aim to enrich San Diego's cultural landscape.
What We Do
Exhibitions
We curate a rotating program of solo and group shows featuring contemporary work by local and emerging artists. Past exhibitions have included mixed-media studies, juried photography shows, and collaborative installations.
Events & Receptions
Opening receptions, film premieres, and special gatherings bring the community together. We regularly host evening events where visitors can meet the artists and experience new work firsthand.
Community Partnerships
Low Gallery has collaborated with Sophie's Gallery, the Medium Festival of Photography, and Photolab to produce cross-disciplinary programming that extends beyond our walls.
Retail
As a gallery and retail store, we offer art lovers the opportunity to acquire works directly, supporting artists and bringing original pieces into homes and collections.
Low Gallery sits at the heart of North Park's creative corridor, where the walls shift every few weeks to make room for new visions in paint, ink, and mixed media. The space leans into contrast—deep navy walls against bright canvases, quiet weekdays punctuated by lively reception evenings where the neighborhood filters through the front door. Artists working in abstraction, portraiture, and experimental design find a home here, their works hung with generous breathing room that lets each piece speak individually. The gallery functions as both exhibition space and community anchor, drawing collectors, casual viewers, and fellow makers into conversation around what contemporary art can mean in San Diego right now.
